Lee Steck, Drums, Vibraphone
Lee Steck has been playing drums and percussion for almost 50 years. Raised in Berkeley, California, Lee began studying Jazz at age 12 with Oakland great, Skip Falls. He has studied with David Garibaldi, Jerry Steinholtz and Richie Lepore at the Dick Grove School of Music in Los Angeles, and plays a wide variety of styles from Jazz and Funk, to Afro-Cuban, Latin, and Country, and has recorded and performed with various artists around the western United States.

Lee currently performs on drums with Doctor Bop, a modern jazz trio; Jasmin, a Betty Carter-style jazz vocalist; the Road House Prophets, a country/rock band, and the Three Faces of Jazz. He also plays vibraphone with OrnEtc., an Ornette Coleman inspired sextet.

Scott Jarrett, Bass
Scott Jarrett has been a prolific contributor to the music scene for decades.

After releasing two singles in Canada in the early 70’s, Scott’s first album “Without Rhyme or Reason” on GRP Records… (no longer available but considered a classic) was recorded in New York City in 1980. His self-produced album entitled “The Gift of Thirst” was completed in 2005. His more recent musical offering entitled “Aperçu” was released in the summer of 2008. He continues to produce CDs there for himself and other artists including Jennifer J. Holt, Steve Siekkinen, Mary Kleuh, Gazillion, Dan Musselman, Bésu and a host of others.

Scott has worked with artists as diverse as jazz great Dave Grusin (GRP) and country music’s Willie Nelson. Scott codesigned and operated 39th Street Music in New York City, a studio who’s impressive client list included The Ramones and Cindy Lauper.

Jarrett designed ThunderBird Recording Studio and ThunderBird Recording School in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and was it’s chief engineer and educational director for four and a half years. Scott also taught recording techniques at Full Sail Center for the Recording Arts for three years. He has was the Recording Dept. Head and the Recording Course Coordinator at McNally Smith College of Music for 11 years.

Jarrett has been a visiting adjunct professor at Santa Fe University of Art and Design, where he was instrumental in revamping the Music Technology components of their music degree since August 2010.

Jarrett has composed original music for theatre, including music for “Stephanie Hero” (written by Mark Medoff, author of “Children of a Lesser God”). He was the music director of the Broadway hit “The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas” for the final year and a half of its run on Broadway. He composed and worked on the production of music for many national jingles including Buick, Sprite, and Lowenbrau beer, and has also toured extensively as a guitar player and singer.
